MAC!! Tectonicus Tutorial!

This is a tutorial for OrangyTang's Tectoncicus Deep Map renderer. Its an awesome program that lets you make a minimap of your servers/single player maps. You can find more information here.

Text to drop into Terminal after you have the files/folders set up.

cd /users/YOURNAME/desktop/Tectonicus
Then
java -jar Tectonicus_v1.0.jar But make sure its the right version. :)

The code commands I use. The (-) represents a new line.

To all of you who keep getting some Java errors make sure your Java is up to date. I'm running 1.6.0_24
"Java.lang.outofmemoryerror"
"UnsupportedClassVersionError:"
"Bad version number in .class file"
Or something like that, I do not know what happened. I have never had this happen to me before. Make sure your java is up to date, and that you're running the most recent minecraft and tectonicus. I have not yet tried past Tectonicus_V1.30. I have tried 1.30 on Minecraft Beta 1.4_01.

@shortsonfire79 One thing you've made a mistake in is in the description, you need it to be:

cd /users/YOURNAME/desktop/Tecton­icus

Took me ages to figure out why mine wasn't working :)

when I went into the folder at the end to look for that thing you click on to open the map i wasnt there ??? have any sagestions

@DelMonteOnSteroids Hmm, I'm sorry, it has been a while since I recorded this or watched it, but I do think that DMGs are easy to use, though I've never had to really configure one I think. The installation (drag to Apps) is ridiculously simple. The one program that I really wish I could have (which I can, I just can't seem to find it) is MS paint, I'd love to have that on my mac. Do you think that your MCMap Live is better than this? I don't think I've given it a go yet.

@shortsonfire79 I'm going to have to disagree with you. I'm a mac user. Gotta say, DMGs are ridiculously easy to use and configure. It's like a digital thumb drive. I've absolutely never had a problem finding applications for my computer, until this. I found one called MCMap live, and it's way better than anything I've seen for PC. (It may be for PC as well)

@Tomazimon Really? Whenever mine can't find the texture pack, it just renders the map with the default texture. At least you got it solved.

@shortsonfire79 The actual problem was that it couldn't find the texture packs, instead of automatically finding them if not specified. The whole program has an issue with people who don't use C:/ for everything ^_^
