Thane Collins study of martial arts began over 30 years ago at age six, with a blended style of Shaolin Kung Fu, Kempo and Karate. By his teens, Collins showed signs of a particular gift with martial arts and began to make a name for himself in numerous tournaments. As his experience grew, Collins devoted more time to martial arts study, training on a daily basis with some of the nations leading martial arts instructors.

By age 18, Collins was studying and now instructing martial arts six to seven days a week from early morning until late in the evening. For over a decade Collins lived, breathed, taught and studied martial arts not simply as a part time activity but as his sole occupation, all day, every day. During the decade, Collins worked as an instructor and leader of several schools, attended, participated and judged hundreds of tournaments and advanced to the rank of Master. During the 1980s, Master Collins worked for several martial arts groups as a lead instructor and assisted with the opening and management of several schools as a member of the Fred Villari organization he studied under Grandmaster Villari himself as well as other leading teachers. Later, Collins expanded his study to include various other styles such as Aikido, Jui Jitsu, Boxing, Kickboxing and Tai Chi, seeking out instructors in these disciplines and training with them. Thane Collins believes in humbleness and often attends other schools to learn different styles and systems.

In the mid 1980s, Master Collins became a police officer in the city of Worcester MA. Due to his unique abilities on the police force as an officer who could disarm, arrest and subdue suspects with minimal injury to them or to law enforcement officers, Collins was regularly designated by fellow officers and the police department to single handedly deal with violent offenders and difficult suspects.   • I used to study jujitsu but after watching, i want to take it up again, some moves do infact work with confidence, it's just beliving the stuffs going to help you, good advice in this video!

  • what do you wanna choose? martial arts or moder arts? Id rather shoot this guy than to fight him with karate or what so ever. hahahahhah! thumbs up!

  • @MakeEasyonYourself well ufc fighters some karate master, kungfu, juijitsu or what so ever, they are all experienced but none of them shows a real fighting skills all they do is brawl and grab each other machida shows skills but not enough, man I've been waiting for a real fight you know. if this guy dares to show his technique in youtube better apply it in a real fight then upload it in youtube ya? hehe well its just my opinion ^^

  • @crookness unless you are so good, and so experienced with it that it just comes so naturally it is just second nature to you. But you would have to be always getting in fights for it to be like that.

  • no matter how good the technique is if the user is not calm and focus the technique will fail.

  • @chocolateproduction1 chinese kenpo karate is kungfu and karate, since Japan used to pay tribute and trade with china Im sure some secretes were exhange and new martial arts were formed way back when

    ive been studying for a month, and had my test for yellow today. i passed, thankfully. if you still have contact with grandmaster villari, tell him that i find his system very interesting. its a very amazing style that combines the best of 2 with a style thats in the middle to help link them
