That doesn't mean you are related, more likely it means your ancestors were the slave-owners of Tony's ancestors. Black slaves took the surnames of their white slave-owners, because slaves were seen as property.

@RyanLovesReds While it is possible it is the surname of a slave-owner it is not always the case and most people need to recognize the truth. Not all white people are evil you cannot lump us altogether. Irish were treated like shit and still are by the english. We're both white on the outside but different on the inside. My skin color is as white as it gets but my family never owned slaves, my ancestors were being tormented by the same people enslaving blacks.

Irish nuns took in black orphans because they said blacks had souls just like anyone else and we're just as human even if they were different when every other ethic group considered blacks "sub-human". Once the children were old enough to leave they often took the last name of a nun or priest who cared for them. That's why you see a lot of african americans with Irish last names, Irish were slaves themselves so we empathize. Get your shit str8.

Not always true.
Many blacks have Irish last names because Irish nuns were the only ones who would take them in(black orphans) as they saw them as human beings with souls. So when the orphans grew up and became adults they took the name of the nun that looked after them.
