I think its wrong to compare the deatheters to the nazis since the death eaters are based on the nobility thats like comparing them to the monarchy to the nazis which some people actually DO! But therre also socialists.

@poshnile Hey =). Actually, I see the connection between Death E.,Lord V. and WW2 and Hitler. You say that the Death E. are based on nobility. What do you think the Aryan race supposed to be? The Malfoy Family is the typical example -blond hair,blue eyes.. And the War against Muggle-borns and Mudbloods? -see the War against Jews,homosex.,Gipsies.. the "lower" race.

But you're right, it's not good to compare them - many people still think HP is just a "fairytale" story.

@Sapphiamur Yes I see the connection but its still not right because when you make that connection you have to be a republican, you dont see what the people are pro the monarchy see, thats it sjust a form of ruling. If you are pro monarchy you can get a good ruler evern though it is a dictatorship when you are under nazirule you surely get people that miuse their power, as we saw under WW2. Its a 100% garantee.

@poshnile I see. Firstly I never said monarchy was a bad political system! Believe it or not I actually agree with Aristoteles, who said that monarchy with a wise ruler would be the best for the society. But as we all know from a wise ruler close to a cruel dictator..

You must understand that DeathE. were INSPIRED by Nazi's, not their COPIES. And when people compare them, it doesn't mean they think they were the same. They both represent the evil side and I think JKR meant it this way. -->

@poshnile (comment continues)-> Many people (not from my generation, obviously; but I heard a lot and so did the others) experienced the terror in WW2. We can more easily indentify ourselves in these 'real life situations' and therefore be aware of the situations in the books. People died violently, it was unfair, brutal... And the books describes something similar. That's why these two groups are being compared. Forget about if DeathE. were elected or not. The real meaning is hidden in actions.
