89 Mustang vs 99 Corvette both cars are modified, but the LS1 was too much for my n/a 302.. fun races though

look at the top speeds of both cars. IMO the stang kicked ass. especially for mustangs history of horrible top end.

@bockydo. That may be true, but it practically cost nothing to repair/modify those foxbodys. Dont get me wrong, i love both cars

@bad65stang Even if you can't find one for 5K you can also get an L98 and that's faster than a Stang too. plus With a few mods you can get it to perform like an LT1. Just don't get the 84. As for the Rear DIF it starts as a sound in the rear. I didn't notice it till my warranty was out. Prior to that the dealership always serviced it. But I meet many mustang owners who complained about the same thing.

@bronxboyXXX idk about you but ive never seen a 90s vette for less than 5k...so if you have a 6k budget you would be way better off goin the route of a 1000 to 1500 stang...ive had a 95 5.0 and my dads had countless foxbodys and havnt ever had to change the diff fluid

@bad65stang I had a 95 5.0 and have a 95 C4 so I know a little something about this. The 5.0 performs nowhere near the LT1 which will give a C5 LS1 a good fight by the way. that money you're considering investing in a fox body can go towards a 92 -96 6 speed C4 corvette and you will get way more bang for your buck plus handling & a much more reliable car that's easier to work on. There really is no comparison. The Stang also needs the rear differential fluid changed way too often.

@bronxboyXXX look how much difference there is price wise...you can pick up a foxbody stang for 2 or less grand (which for that price will more than likely have some stuff done to it already) then but another 3grand into it thats only 5 grand (on the expensive side)that will run pretty damn good for that 5k investment.....then compared to the price of the vette...you get wayyyyy more bang for the buck with the mustang and the so called "slow" 5.0 302....just sayin

@86gt50levitt launching a corvette is not so easy, most people don't know how but even still, the stang only pulled ahead by 1 car (barely) and the corvette blew past it by several cars long before the Mustang was anywhere near it's top end. That's what really happened & why the mustang guy said "Wow". They didn't just get beat, they got their asses kicked! if you go by the numbers the vette took 12 seconds to pull ahead by 2 cars. Meaning he was doing less than 109Mph

@Elavics Actually torque and drivetrain helps on launch. Jeeps that weigh twice as much as my mustang have a better launch
