Squamish River Valley Bull Elk. I went grouse hunting today up the Squamish River Valley and came across this Bull Elk. It has NO business in the area, but there it is proof positive that there are Elk in the Squamish River Valley. I suspect this one migrated from the Sunshine Coast, near the Vancouver River. This is raw video, straight from the camera.

  • how are the grouse looking up there?

  • @thefallfever this is the first time i've been up the squamish/elaho valleys without seeing any grouse. Pretty dismal trip, but always love the drive.

  • Elk have been reintroduced to both the Ashlu and Upper Squamish. It's pretty common now to see them along the river between the Ashlu and Elaho. Just yesterday I was out photographing eagles at around 25 mile and came across 12 piles of elk poo and lots of tracks. Earlier in the fall I came across 2 dead bull elk caught in the fence at the Saw Valley farm. CO's took the antlers and Squamish Nation butchered the animals. Great video. Thanks for posting.
