I have this record. This is definitely Harold "Scrappy " as the vocalist. This Pollack's all star band. great trombone solo by Teagarden, with Pollack on Drums (He was hot in his own right). , Goodman is on this record, w/Jimmy McPartland Trumpt. Glenn Miller is also on this rcord w/no solo, but his arrangement. The Flutes at 2:00 give it a way. Gil Rodin also on Eb Alto Sax. recorded by Victor.

Scrappy can do no wrong, as it definitely is him. Lorin was a pseudonym he often used on Victor. Excellent version!

I agree, I bought some of his later recordings and they are less that satisfactory compared to his late 20's recordings.

Nice song I hadn't heard before. I wonder why the '30's Pollack records are so much less interesting. I guess it was the musicians and arrangers he had in his earlier band.

Nice recording! For the sake of comparison, check out the renditions that the Golden Gate Orchestra recorded for Edison and Harmony--available at the Redhotjazz site under "Golden Gate Orchestra."

I listened to the other version today. I like this one a little bit better. It has a slightly more upbeat tempo than the California Ramblers version. The vocal on this one is a better too.
