Yes, I play it like John Denver does, but so it goes with a lot of stuff I do. I also goof up during one of the interludes. You can also watch a part of the Mavs' postgame show in the background, if you so desire.

I've got this song on a New Christy Minstrels' compilation and your interpretation is more than decent. Now about the thumb pick, it doesn't care as long as it still sounds OK. If there was no video, nobody would notice you don't use it... ;-)
