As someone who is actively involved in the community, I am greatly interested in the concerns of our town and its residents.
I grew up in Chelmsford, and was educated in our great public schools. My bachelor's degree was earned at UMass/Amherst, where I was enrolled in the Air Force ROTC program. After being commissioned, and completing my stint on active duty, I continued my military service in the Air National Guard, during which time I earned an MBA under provisions of the GI Bill. I worked as a business consultant, and helped many local businesses and town departments with their technology needs.
I continue to represent Chelmsford on several regional boards, including the Northern Middlesex Council of Governments (where I currently serve as Vice Chairman), and the Lowell Regional Transit Authority. My participation facilitates on-going communication with officials in neighboring communities. For example, I was directly involved in a regional effort that delivered benefits to Chelmsford, including the recent awards of almost $3 million for transportation improvements. It's what I do best -- think about a challenge and figure out how to bring people, departments, businesses and agencies together for a solution.
Collaboration and consensus-building are critical to building a successful Board of Selectmen, and I believe my personal style reflects my ability to foster cooperation for the benefit of the Board and our town.
