Caplin, I can't get enough of you.
I have been so interested in capybaras since I was a kid and we adopted one at the zoo (we paid for its living expenses; it didn't come live with us, unfortunately).
I've been reading up on your family tree... closely related to agoutis, chinchillas, guinea pigs, porcupines and nutrias, *not* so closely related to beavers, rats, etc.
Caplin, you are just fascinating. Wikipedia says you are "Master of the grasses" but you're master of popsicles to me.

Caplin's nose + wide-angle lens = BFF
The first time I saw a capybara was in a National Geographic video, and the words "I want one" was my immediate reaction. That's when I found Caplin, and wanted one ever more. Unfortunately, I live in the city, right downtown. I don't even have a dog because I think it's cruel to not have a place to let one run. He's got a nice set up. I know you love him dearly. I have an iguana that I take with me just about everywhere in the warm months. I feel guilty that he has to stay in all winter.

I'm sure your iguana is as happy as an iguana can be. They're not good at displaying emotion, are they? Glad to see you understand the limits of city living. It does seem cruel when big animals are kept in small spaces. Caplin has lots of room to roam, a swimming pool, a pond, his castle. And I take him places too. I think he's a pretty happy capy.
