Crossroads, Another Story, Ep.10 Noroko vs Death

When Noroko was done fighting Warakia, darkness enveloped her. Noroko was now in a strange red and black realm. A large vortex appeared to be the only scenery in the area. A being wearing a purple cloak and clown-like mask appeared before Noroko. A scythe floated close by the figure.

???: To think I'd allow you to cheat death this far. All five of you.

Noroko thought this may be the person who knew who she was.

Noroko: ..... 'All five of me?' What do you mean....?

The being laughed eerily.

Death: I am the night that comes after the lifetime of all living things. I am Death. But I have my reasons for keeping you... 'alive' up to this point...

Death paused for a moment.

Death: You see, along time ago, young women were sacrificed in order for a cult or some other indivinual or group to obtain power or to get some form of deed done. But eventually, this method lost it's power. But one person came along and devised a new method of sacrifice. First, it involved 5 carefully selected girls to be murdered, whether the killing was clean or not that didn't matter. Second, using my power, I bind the souls into a form such as your own and send them into an isolated plane of existance. Binding the souls gives them more power then if they were seperate. The third step has two possible outcomes. Either a) capture the soul coctail when ready for use, or b) let it go on a rampage for a bit and gather power by absorbing the impressions of emotion left in places.

Noroko was shocked. She couldn't believe she was five different people. But now it made sense to her. There appeared to be no other explanation for all the stuff she could do.

Death: What I find interesting is, your the first one of your kind to be level headed. All the others before you were, hmm... dead insane.

Death chuckled.

Death: But we don't need you anymore. Our goal was to spread chaos, despair and confusion. And cince you don't want to help us out, your comepleatly worthless to us. I'd also be doing you a favor if I destroyed you. What do you say?

Noroko didn't even need a second to respond th othat question.

Noroko: ..... No.....

Death: I was hoping you'd say that.

Death then made a duplicate of himself. They both spoke at the same time.

Death: I hope you suffer along the way to your destruction.

Noroko: ..... Do you really believe you can defeat me as I am now....?

Death: This is no belief, faceless one.

Noroko now knew Death was foolish.
