TV was 100 times better when we only had 3 channels. Now we've got all the Extra Terrestial channels the quality has gone down big time. I've even stopped paying my TV licence and the idiots don't even have detector vans anymore. They just rely on you the Sheep to tell them you've got a TV.

Larry was the best Generation Game presenter (though I did like Brucie too) - I adored him as a kid.

Were those tv detector vans real? I remember seeing one as a kid. I've always thought they put big mock aerials on vans just to make people think they could be found out for not having a licence. Come on - a television detector van? Really??

Larry Grayson was a true original, eccentric and charming, the mike yarwood impression of him sucks, its just cold and homophobic, doesnt capture the warmth of the man.

'Quality, not quantity.' Despite only having 3 channels at the time, the programmes were worth watching because there was a wealth of talent who wanted to appear on TV shows without expecting exhorbitant fees. Nowadays, the so-called, 'celebrities', haven't had any time-served entertainment careers to speak of, and go straight into television, expecting huge fees. And, the best that most of them do is to talk a lot. No talent as such, just the gift of the gab. No entertainment value at all

Sadly because, the average Saturday evening of today struggle to comprehend even the most tedious / childish programmes. The rest of us watch re-runs on cable or satelite
