Tupolev SB2 bomber - WW2 Soviet Film

This video is a World War 2 Soviet aviation film highlighting the Tupolev SB2 high speed bomber.

It was numerically the most important bomber in the world in the late 1930s, and it was the first modern stressed-skin aircraft produced in quantity in the Soviet Union. Many versions saw extensive action in Spain, the Republic of China, Mongolia, Finland and at the beginning of the War against Germany in 1941.

In this video, and also your other on the Polikarpov U-2 you have some very interesting footage of some unusual and little-known aircraft. Keep them coming!!! Just please put some different music in the next one, it does get a bit repetitive after eight and a half minutes!!

@hangarrat101 Sorry about the music -- it's the only vaguely Russian music that we have which is not copyrighted, so I'm afraid the next (and last) two Soviet videos that will be uploaded in the next couple of weeks will have the same music... :-( My advice is just to turn the volume down! ;-) Cheers.

The Tupolev SB-2 bomber was the classic Soviet Russian bomber design of the 1930s--what a beauty! It is a true shame the Spanish Republicans did not capitalize on its outstanding abilities when, during the Spanish Civil War, Moscow exported, among other aircraft like the Polikarpov I-15 and I-16 fighters and the Ro2 recon biplane, over 200 of these impeccably-fast and versatile bombert aircraft to the Republic in the fight against fascism in Spain.

Wait a minute, I GET it, they played this when flying over German lines as a form of psychological warfare. I'll bet they had special GRU units who's job it was to inflitrate and replace all the German phonographs with this piece of music on their LP 78's. If anyone goes to war against Russia in the future they're going to replace all the music torrentz with this tune.....You don't believe me ... You wait and see!
