@1madinjun and "wrestling" is an umbrella term for a whole lot of different styles in history. Those techniques were probably in "wrestling" BC but there was certainly nothing resembling modern freestyle around at that time so they pre-date freestyle as well. Just be thankful that nobody from back then is around now to berate you for renaming to "double wristlock" the technique that they most likely had another name for.
Also, a "Kimura" is a specific kind of "double wristlock".

Totally illegal move for freestyle wrestling...
Sure it's impressive to see it but is totally illegal,the Turkish wrestler not only lost but he broke his hand and his carrier ended too...

@1madinjun Right as rain - wrestling came first. Even as infants humans will wrestle. It's not as if they pop out of the womb looking for an arm-bar,or a front kick,and they seldom begin life by cranking off a double left-hook,..which is probably a good thing. :)

@Badfish71922 the move in this match was not a keylock, but a double wrist lock

@Badfish71922 I am well aware of Japanese Jiu Jitsu but it does not date before wrestling . I am so aware I will invite you to Google the term Ne Waza which you will see a few Youtube vids . The school will be shooting a few more vids soon because these are very old . Enjoy

@1madinjunYou need to realize that BJJ was not the first form of jiu jutsu...it started as an ancient form of martial arts used by samurais who needed to find a way to defend and attack without weapons if disarmed...obviously armor made striking absolutely useless, hence the development of jiu jitsu, focusing on chokes and joint locks. Brazilian jiu jitsu was later developed by the Gracies using some wrestling influence, most noteably the Americana, which is the keylock used in this match.

The Turks protested and thheir protest was upheld. But because they didn't do it within an hour Schultz was allowed to stay in the tournament. He then won four strait to win the gold.

Mark and David Shultz injured so many wrestlers in the 1984 olympic competitin that they were appointed their own special referee. There is no honor in that.

pretty much just did a kimora. thats all it was

@1madinjun Amen
I love when JJ guys get on wrestling vids and put their 2 cents in . NEWSFLASH WRESTLING HAS BEEN AROUND BEFORE JIU JITSU , SO GUESS WHAT ? WE DIDNT TAKE MOVES FROM JIU JITSU YOU GUYS GOT MOST OF YOUR STUFF FROM US . A "Kimura" is a DOUBLE WRISTLOCK and "getting your hooks in" is GRAPEVINING both techniques were around B.C "before Christ" so I guess thats a little longer than the birth of the Gracies and the Japanese that trained them. CAPS LOCK = screaming
