  • what a pairing- Tebaldi & Kraus. Amazing. I never would have dreamed he would have sung in this opera- Wonderful blend of the voices- Of course, she was a master in this and so many verismo works - thanks for this. I'm glad I found it here- Ernesto

  • I was there too. Elena Suliotis made her sensational American debut as Elena of Troy that night, also. Ghiaurov was the Mefistofele.

  • I actually saw this performance in Chicago in October of 1965, and I still vividly remember it. It was Tebaldi's final operatic appearance in Chicago and the audience kind of perceived it.

    There was a tremendous audience ovation that followed this duet. I STILL remember it!
