This is a video of Maasai children playing at their school yard at the Osegel Hope Center near Narok, Kenya. The leader(s) will call out, "One, two...make a circle...Three, four...a BIG Circle." The children hold hands and begin to form a growing circle. Then, the leaders will call out a game. Their games are similar to Duck, Duck, Goose..a ground version of Marco Polo...Simon Says (yama yama yama).

  • Interseting :) How on earth did you get this footage?

  • I and my wife went on a Medical Mission to Kenya. We filmed it while playing with the kids.

  • i kind of do. 1 person tags the people in the circle and when you stop singing and the last person tagged has to run and try to sit where the first person was and if he or she loses it is their time to tag and the game goes on and on.It does not have an end so you can play for as much time as you want.

I hope its useful and understandable.

  • Does anybody know the rules to these games in detail? I'd love to do this with my 2nd graders!
