"The negatives should be burnt"? Shall we now burn all evidence of history or shall we learn from it? The Birth of a Nation was based on The Clansman, the #1 bestseller of its day. You can't fault Griffith for being a product of his time. Everyone was racist back then and only the strongest souls were able to rise above it. And let's not be so self-righteous as if we don't have our own blind spots that future generations will criticise.

Unfortunately all of the time you spent restoring these films is completely in vain because D.W. Griffith was not only a racist but he was a pretentious hack who produced some of most bigotry fueled and flawed pieces of cinema in existence. It's seriously not even worth the time to go back and watch any of these (even for educational purposes) and instead the negatives should be burnt.
