The video shows some of the dramatic scenery of the Appalachian mountains of western Virginia leading up to the East River Mountain tunnel, through which interstate 77 passes immeiatey prior to entering into West Virginia.
It had rained fairly recently in the area, hence the valleys and rolling hills are still covered in thin layers & pockets off steam & humidity.
No, I was not driving. I was sitting in the front passenger seat.
The tunnel passage begins at 6:47. As you watch the passage through the tunnel, imagine the carnage that would ensue if there were to be a disasterous car or truck accident in the middle of the tunnel.
At the end of the video, right at about 8:15, I began to zoom in on a road sign up ahead announcing the entrance to West Virginina, which is nearly immediate upon exiting the north end of the tunnel. You can just make out the sign in the distance when the camera betteries died altogether.
Wow, just did this drive last night. Pitch Black. So the wife and and search youtube for a video of the W.V Mountains and this video poped up. Thank you so much for making the video. Now i get to see it in the day. All the way from Toronto, thank you.
