Would love to know where this concert video came from?!! It looks professionally done. Perhaps Dan was making a video hoping to release it, but the quality was not up to his standards so it was never released?? Anyone know the background to this concert taping??? Whatever--I am glad someone apparently got a bootleg copy and has shared it!!! Thanks!!!!

The video definately was professionaly done, but unfortunately the bootleg that is out there has several glitches. It would be nice if the masters could be found and released. I think Dan never released this show because he lost his falsetto and was not happy with the quality. If you watch the beginning of Beggars Game, Crow and Elenor Rigby he addresses the problem with his vocals that night.

I keep trying to remember how I heard Part of the Plan?Home Free wasn't a thought in my head,I was a high schooler when it was released and no AM/FM song on the album.Dan did not exist in my world at that time.I keep thinking I heard Part of the Plan on the radio? I do know,I went to a record store that my friend managed,looking at the albums and there was Dan. I held Souvenirs in my hands and thought "Cool looking guy"took Dan home and loved him ever since.Home Free came home with me later.

I first saw Dan in concert in 1975 in Chicago. "Fool's Gold" opened for him and was his backup band. In the middle of the second song of the night, he forgot the lyrics. He stopped, looked around and said, "I'm sorry...I'll make it up to you." He sure did as we were treated to the entire Fogelberg catalog and songs that had not even been released yet over the next 3 hours. God Bless Dan!

While Billboard will tell you the chart position of this one single, what it doesn't say is that AOR (Album Oriented Rock) had taken over FM at the time, and in the midwest we heard this and MANY other Dan songs on those non-top 40 stations frequently.

I want to be Part of this Plan , always loved Dans music... ,a master

musician, amazing composer.I Have all his vinyl records from the 70's

and now and then I refer to them for inspiration.Yea I have the CDs but

he also created his own artwork but you can't appreciate them in small format.

i wonder if he was right-will we all understand??-I get this vision of meeting with God, asking him why this or that happened, and having kind of tilt his head, put up his hands and say.... "God knows????"

i first saw dan in concert, nashville, TN, 1977, the new grand ole opry house...it was awesome!
