1992 Tzu Chi Canada Chapter
The government gave approval to the Tzu Chi Foundation to establish a branch office in Canada, on this day in 1992. To celebrate, volunteers held a large-scale tea party at a high school in Vancouver, inviting volunteers from the US to share their experiences.

As we just saw in our history section, the Canadian Tzu Chi Chapter was officially established on this day in 1992. Since then, Tzu Chi"s charity, medicine, education and recycling missions have blossomed in the country, reaching people in all needy corners. It all began with a Taiwanese couple, He Guoqing(何國慶)and his wife, who held gatherings one after another, to recruit volunteers and members. Today, Canada has seven Tzu Chi Chapters, and 75 volunteer stations, with nearly 30,000 members.

在剛才歷史今天的報導裡，我們看到加拿大分會於1992年的今天成立，從此慈濟的慈善、醫療、教育及環保志業在當地蓬勃發展，幫助許多於社會黑暗角落的人，而這都要從一對­台灣夫妻說起，何國慶與妻子舉辦許多茶會，接引志工與會員，如今，加拿大有七所分會，並陸續成立了75個志工站以及近三萬名慈濟會員。
