@MughaleAzam87 The reference in this verse is to Antioch which was a Greek city founded by Selcucus Nicator, one of the successors of Alexander, in about 300 B.C. in memory of his father, Antiochus. The city may be a symbolic entity populated by human society.

Tafsir al-Jalalayn 36:14
When We sent to them two men, and they denied them both (from idh arsalnā ilayhim ithnayni fa-kadhdhabūhumā to the end is a substitution for the previous idh, ‘when’), so We reinforced [them] (read fa-‘azaznā or fa-‘azzaznā, in other words, We reinforced the two men) with a third, and they said, ‘We have indeed been sent to you [by God]’.
they were Sham'un, Yuhanna, and Bulus.

Tafsir al-Jalalayn 36:13 And strike for them as a similitude (mathalan is the first direct object) the inhabitants (ashāba is the second direct object) of the town, [of] Antioch (Antākya), when the messengers, namely, Jesus’s disciples, came to it (idh jā’ahā’l-mursalūna is an inclusive substitution for ashāba’l-qaryati, ‘the inhabitants of the town’).

Christianity is a pagan satanic cult whispered in the ear of Satan's favorite handyman, Paul of Tarsus. Christianity = Mithraism.

@SuperPricil If Christians want to believe in the false Isra'iliyat Hadiths, they must prove Antioch was destroyed after Jesus' earthly time NOT by an army. Since they cannot do this, they must reject the claim that this place refers to Anticoh & the claim that the 3 people refer to John/Simon/Paul. The Hadiths which Christian get this from are false sources according to the sciences of Hadith, & no matter how much they hate it, there is no authentic Islamic text which affirms Paul's Apostleship

@SuperPricil Secondly the three men about whom Quran says they were Allah's messengers (Ayat Nos. 14, 16), when Prophet Eesa's disciples and companions CANNOT be considered Allah's messengers according to Quranic terminology. As stated by Quran they were Prophet Eesa's companions and assistant (Surah saad Ayah No.14)."
So we see in conclusion that both Ibn Kathir & Dr F Ajmeri rightfully disagreed the place to have been Antioch.
Allah is so Great. Welcome sister
