On MSNBC's "Countdown" Monday night, Keith Olbermann argued that Fox News was partially responsible for the murder of Dr. George Tiller. He played clips of the network depicting Tiller as a baby killer and a Nazi, among other things. Olbermann called on viewers to not patronize businesses that show Fox News and to encourage their friends not to watch the channel -- "not so much a boycott here as a quarantine." The host pledged to take the first step and "retire the name, the photograph, and the caricature" of Bill O'Reilly from his own show.

  • Aortion is legal. Don't like it? Too bad, you're gonna have to deal with it.

  • Scott Roeder was a lone sicko who was diagnosed w/paranoid schizophrenia more than a year BEFORE O'Reilly and Fox News was on the air. He also had a history of violence BEFORE that occurred.

Olbermann is either a liar or an ignoramus. O'Reilly & Fox News has NOTHING to do w/the murder of Tiller. Nothing at all.

  • @Kimwed2b At least in a medical environment, the woman would still be alive to live her life and, perhaps, have children when she feels she is able to support them.

  • @Kimwed2b But you're missing the point! Making abortion illegal will not stop people from terminating their pregnancies, they'll just find ways to do it that are not safe. You're basically saying you'd rather victims of rape perish for seeking some sort of release from the incredible psychological damage associated with the incident. And y'know what? Those babies would still be dead.

  • @Kimwed2b And, to further solidify the line. I'm willing to draw the line, personally, at first trimester abortions. Anything after that and, well, the person in question could always adopt. So, I guess I'm not completely free of bias in this issue, though the final choice should still remain with the mother, and it's not my place to fault her for making what I consider to be the "wrong" one. (Though why anyone would terminate a six month old pregnancy is beyond me).

  • @Kimwed2b Anyway, I'll refer you to my comment sent a bit after your last one. The movement is called "Pro-choice", not "Pro-abortion." I'm all for putting children up for adoption, I have a longtime gradeschool friend who was adopted. However, it's not my right to interfere in a woman's decision just as it isn't yours. If you don't support it, that's fine, just don't interfere in other peoples' lives.

  • @shinobi67 Yes I would as they are implicit in their child's murder. Yawn, I'm done with you now.

  • @Kimwed2b It's hardly impossible for a woman to be misogynistic, if they continue to support a society where their rights are marginalized. Believe it or not, there are some women who are against the right to vote. Anyway, I'll freely admit that that little recital was just an attempt to get you riled up. Kudos to you for responding politely (insofar as calling for the murder of abortion doctors can be called polite).

  • @Kimwed2b Also, just an aside. I'm all for adoption. Pro-choice people are Pro-CHOICE. There's no impetus to get an abortion to join some sort of "big girls club" full of free wine and lascivious male models. The option is there, for those who wish to take it. Or would you rather the women who would have gotten one potentially die after a botched back alley abortion?

  • @shinobi67 For starters I'm a woman so I think that it would be difficult for me to be misogynistic and more than half of America is against abortion. I have tremendous respect for all human life but when said human spends their days slaughtering babies then they lose my respect. I won't continue to try and argue with you though as I don't get into intellectual wars with unarmed people.
