This is stetic. everyone has their own tastes and it is harmless, so if you do not like do not comment.

Maybe it's because their tail-wagging causes them to hit things and you. Benny's tail was docked as a puppy. Not having a tail also eliminates a potential hazard to them in a working environment. If they don't have a tail it can't get caught in something or injured. It's like not having long hair if you work in an environment where there are lots of machines with moving parts. However, the trend is outlawing tail docking and ear cropping. Dogs communicate with each other with their tails.

@lovelyjueal His tail was docked by his breeder just about at birth will all the other puppies in the litter. I didn't intend to crop his ears but I had no choice. It really was a medical decision as they kept getting injured. The bleeding wouldn't stop and he was in constant pain.

Wonderful military Crop and Dock.
btw: Dogs also communicate with body posture, eye contact, vocally, and wagging tails; whether they are cropped or long. For Dobermans; Cropping and Docking is always the BEAT and Healthiest option.

@LOKISlog7 Thanks. His ears don't stand properly because I had them cropped at 10 months because he literally blew off the tips of them with his head shaking. He has plant allergies and it affected his ears so much that he would always be tossing his head around. His ears were very large and THIN.

@rogerpemberton
There were chunks missing from both ears, blood everywhere and he practically begged me to do something about it...literally. When they bled he would just look at me like "are you going to do something about this?"
I had them taped down on a homemade collar for two weeks but they just wouldn't heal.
I then decided to have them cropped.
I went for the military crop because I was pretty sure they would have difficulty standing and because the show crop looks pretentious, IMHO.

@rogerpemberton I see that you have a pic of a beautiful GP on your channel. How old is he/she? Where did you get him/her?
