  • Please include in your post what the gist of these runs illustrate. We're inferring that, one, you have an onboard starter, and two, you have a generator delivering current back to the battery.

    It appears that once you get the engine started, you are not disengaging the starter but allowing the engine to drive it and thus instantly converting your starter into a generator. Is this correct?

  • Yes, the purpose of the system is to enable Starting and Charging, also Boosting and Regulating the thrust. The use of oversized propeller also helps with efficiency. This particular unit features no clutch, however future versions will have different configurations.

    Thanks, sounds like a very workable system. Have you considered diesel engines? They swing bigger props with more torque. That might suit your system better. But in any case, you might get a kick out of my own engine experiments. I'm in Canada.
