Let's Play - Carmageddon - 001 - Maim Street

This video is a bit of a test video as well as a new LP. I really want to show off this game, but I'm not sure if the videos will continue to be entertaining after 30+ races. Things may change depending on viewer commentary and my own scrutiny.

That being said, Let me introduce Carmageddon: High Octane! A game which I originally found through my violin teacher. It was originally meant to be a Death Race 2000 game, but ended up being something original (and frankly, a lot better). I hope you enjoy the carnage as much as I do.

@NAPREDATOR I think the game is designed to play music from the CD in your drive, including the original Carmageddon CD.

Are you using a 3dfx card on an old pc for this? I've only gotten software rendering to work which looks crappy.

@darthbandon10 I can't believe I failed to mention the method I'm using to play this game. It's called Glidos, and it's able to render a lot of old 3D games like Carmageddon and Tomb Raider with more modern cards at higher resolutions. It costs $10 but I found it to be a worthwhile investment.

Ah, good times!

This game got me to listen to Fear Factory, which did some songs in the soundtrack, including the music for the intro cinematic.

I believe it's called body hammer.

@MetroidKingofMetroid It is getting a faithful remake.  The team that made Carmageddon 1 & 2 recently got united and are now working on Carmageddon Reincarnation. They have a website for it.

This game looks like it would be awesome if it was given a faithful remake. But I would be too afraid that the game designers would completely ruin the game.

Carma2 has more glitches - including getting your vehicle 'glued' to a post or wall, black walls underwater, etc. but meh. This version no longer works properly for me, but the best vehicle to waste opponents and cops in high level races was Pitbull's Towmeister (in C2 he has the big dump truck and only appears in 1 race). Personally, if it worked properly, I would go back to this version in a flash. More carnage, and less software glitches. C2 crashes more than the cars.
