Truck hits Power Pole St. George & Lewis Moncton

Around 12:30 noon today a truck hit a power pole snapping it like a tooth pick and left the scene. Residents of this area of St. George & Lewis Street were not long to let RCMP know who did it and where the truck was. RCMP found the truck on Steadman street at a bottle exchange. Many homes and businesses in the area are without power and alot of traffic lights not working causing alot of tie ups with traffic.
I spoke to the driver of the truck and he said the brakes on the trailer locked up sending the trailer sideways breaking the pole.
NB Power arrived around 1:15pm and later on Commercial Enforcement also were on scene. RCMP were at every intersection blocking off the street & city works brought barricades. It was raining lightly at the time of the accident .
NB Power will be working here until at least 8 or 9pm tonight.
