Oh bahut bahut shukrya Harpal Ji. My Dad is 71 years old, so when he grew up in India they must not have had all of these masalas too, you are right. He came to America in 1965, so in the town of Amtirsar maybe at that time they were onl using few spices. Thank you very much Harpal Ji. I also think some families liked the hotter food with using these chillies and all. Dad says that some Indians do not have the enzymes to digest these hot chillies, we cannot even have the red chilli powder.

Very nice video Harpal Ji, but I see you use a lot of green and red chillies in your videos. My Dad was born in Amritsar and he told me when he was growing up there his family never used red and green chillies and also lots of spices. Not all Punjabi people like hot foods, we only like mild. And if we use pepper we only use a little black pepper.

Yes Punjabi food is Garam Masala hot and not spicy hot,but as we keep progressing the availability of all ingredients keeps changing the cuisine with time....
