Lithuania in Middle Ages was a huge and powerful monarchy with vast territories from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea. Every man was a valiant warrior. Well armed and experienced Lithuanian knights, led by glorious monarchs and commanders, won more than 30 significant medieval battles. Now, the knights are back. Every year dozens of masters of the sword assemble in the town of Trakai, a medieval Lithuanian capital. The knights fight for recognition, honor, and the Grand Prize - the Sword of the Commander of LIthuania's Armed Forces.

  • If there's one thing I envy about Lithuanians it's that they had their medieval kingdom and medieval knights. Rich history.

  • still awsome I'll participate if they are still happening.

  • They are fiting with too much anger and yet they dont know each other. You cna cleary see none of them have the training. unless i missed some wile i was typing

  • wow I never knew something like this was actually being hosted every year, really would love to participate but it's too far for financial reasons.

Are there any rules in particular like how about stabbing or trusting motion, and how about grappling moves where you lock you opponent with your weapon and force them them on the ground so you can "finish them".

and how about the rules of winning and losing, are there points or is it till you can't fight anymore?

  • Um, am I the only one who thinks this sport looks INCREDIBLY painful?

  • @verdefull um almato is right the geographical center of europe is in lithuania

  • @Rumpelstilzi You don't have to speak Lithuanian you can just join a group in you're country to come and challenge Lithuania's knights. If theres no group like that in you're country then learn Lithuanian and come here oh and you have to be 18 i think.

  • I take this is the medieval event in Trakai, 2010?

Damn, I wish I had anything like that near me.

All the medieval combat groups in my country are too soft. Battles like that wouldn't be possible, nobody would agree to them.

Any idea if you have to speak or be Lithuanian, or be part of a group to participate in the tourneys?

  • In Northern Europe not Middle.....
