Ray Low - Look Up, Child (Live)

A little bit about this song...when I signed up for the Multicultural Show, I had no idea what song I was gonna do. When I saw the sign up sheet, I saw that there were other people doing Chinese singing, and so I wanted to do something different. And so I started thinking of this song. Being the only song in the show other than the National Anthem sung in English, I knew the lyrics mattered a lot this time. The song talks about not obsessing over a standard of success that everyone else places on us. Not that all Asian households experience this, but really the song is about breaking through the confines of the expectations of others, and looking rather towards something greater. It's inspirational, and it teaches us to find out who we really are, instead of having someone else tell us.
