i saw only a little of the newer 2005 film, of the (entering the candy room). it really sucks compared to the 1971. which i consider a so much better film, its music. the film brings back many memories of my childhood. its only goes to show you cant improve on the original. which is truly a magical film.

Still the best film from any of Dahl's books. Even among his other first rate performances, this is Wilder's legacy.

The 25th Anniversary Was Release in the Year of 1996.

this year marks the 40th anniversary of this iconic movie. For that, WB is releasing it on bluray for the first time in a collector's set!!! I have that 25th ann. on vhs.
