I finally got this beauty for $350 Canadian + tax (I know that they're a lot cheaper in US). I love the way this machine sounds. Definitely more quieter than my FS-70RC

The STIHL FS90-R is powered by STIHL's 28.4cc 4-mix engine. The same engine also powers the FS-100RX (31cc), FS-110 (31cc) and FS-130 (36cc) trimmers and the BR500, BR550 and BR600 Magnum Backpack leaf blowers (65cc)). The engine is designed to be a single cylinder 4-stroke (valves unlike 2's) with mixture lubrication (2-stroke gas), which is why it sounds so much different. This engine is also designed for torque but at the same time to burn clean, efficiently and reduce emissions. Best of both worlds.

  • @cannonman97 It's true. Fantastic product so the dollars are worth it. But stihl, we're getting scalped a little probably, for some reason.

  • @Jon3800 i know

  • @man9170

sheesh. Its not worth the hassle LOL.

  • @Jon3800 in new zeland they pay $1999 for one! (in USD)

  • @man9170

they are about $700 here plus sales tax.. I love STIHL equipment but I personally find it too expensive for a backpack blower where you can opt for a BR500/BR550. I will eventually get one...only I find it at a cheap price like I did on my BR420.

  • @Jon3800 here in australia we have to pay $1000 for a br 600

  • Thanks, great vid. I am in the market for a new trimmer, and looks like it will be an FS90R now for sure.

  • @cannonman97

ya, the FS550, it's about $1.4k here plus the tax

  • @Jon3800 Yeah, all stihl machinery is so pricey in australia, but no matter how much you pay look after it and it will start paying for its self in the not to distant future but the biggest still brush cutter is like $2.5k au over here!

  • @cannonman97

Really for a FS-90R? Gee for that price you get can get a 250R, taxes are ridiculous everywhere...the states has it a bit easier
