OCCUPY EL PASO IS SIDING WITH RECALL. Attorney Jesus Ochoa appeared before El Paso City Council on November 15, 2011. He was one of the 19 individuals who signed up to speak on the issue of two ordinances on the City's agenda to give authority to a Downtown Management District to regulate downtown events. They had numerous complaints. The ordinances were very poorly written. This is routine for this council. The City's ordinances have frequently been confusing and difficult to understand. The City Council considered the ordinances out of order. The speakers were upset that the City was given authority to a none elected entity. Moreover the ordinances were giving authority to those in charge of large corporations. Mr. Ochoa stated that the "recall is looking better everyday."
Most citizens of El Paso are now asking for the recalls of the self serving progressives John Cook, Susie Byrd and Steve Ortega. They recently repudiated and nullified an ordinance passed by a large majority of the citizens of El Paso. Like dictators, they trampled upon the will and votes of their own citizenry. Over 15.000 recall signatures were gather and turned into the City Clerk who certified them as being adequate for a recall election. The Governor has ordered a special recall election to be held on April 14, 2012.
