So do a search (On YT) for:
Modified Wallis Centerpin Cast from FloatFishingConnection
As I said - great solid information, professionals, authoritative - and notice what he calls the clicker. (It's also called that by several manufacturers who have been making the reels over the years IIRC)
But nothing against using it for sound for personal preference - to each their own.. (other than it does interfere with the subtle mastery aspect)
You can use for the sound for sure, but it wasn't designed for that. The whole essence of a centerpin rig is simplicity & to have the most direct connection between reel-line-fish as possible. It's also about mastery of that reel, and the clicker used in that mode defeats that specifically.
As I typed it yes, Ross promoted&called it a Prawl-Drag. (professional company, verbal slip=reshoot).
Watch: flotfishconnection casting vid - Great solid information & pros. ('transport clicker')
where do you get this term" transport clicker"? its so goofey! Its a clicker period, however the owner wants to use it. I keep mine on all the time while playing fish, not for drag but because I like the sound. -screaming reels. Are you only against the promotion of it as a drag? (there is almost no drag really) I think he just made a verbal slip because he's used to making fly reels with screw down drags.
Please do not promote the clicker as a DRAG! Anyone getting into the sport is going watch this and use it as such. This defeats one of centerpinning's objectives, and some would argue it takes away from the culture of the sport... Please don't come into the sport with your new product and mislead new users with improper nomenclature. A prawl-click drag is on a FLY REEL, not a centerpin reel.
Thanks for your understanding.

Ross, are you guys kidding us? You just created a centerpin reel and touted that it's supposed to set the new standard for centerpin reels... Then you go on to call the transport clicker a 'prawl-drag'? One of the hallmarks of a centerpin reel is that it has NO drag. The 'clicker' as it's affectionately called by 'pinners, is a TRANSPORT CLICKER, used when not actively fishing the rod (e.g. walking, getting into fishing position, etc.) and when rigging up the rod. It prevents spool over-run.
