Making choices requires discipline and yields benefits which outweigh the sacrifices taken.

  • Hey there, you are right, dealing with other peoples reactions is much harder then just changing your eating habits or choosing non-leather shoes. People can be absolute pricks sometimes to anyone who is doing something different. Maybe there is some kind of group near where you live you could join so you can hang out with other vegans? *HUGS*

  • How did you give up cheese??? "Well... I DID...." lmao classic. i use that exact line

  • I've been a vegetarian for 12 years and just vegan for two weeks. When i was a vegetarian i didn't eat cheese anyway because of rennet and didn't eat gelatine or drink wine or beer but I still find turning vegan very hard. Mainly because, theres animal products in so many things and food labelling is so annoying omitting ingredients etc. but i do agree non vegans do give us a hard time and that is very annoying too!!

  • @OXOXOXLOVEOXOXOX Im 24 now I think that comment that I wrote was almost a year ago but im not sure what your question is, How to get your parents to buy better food?, just have them buy food for you, and have them accommodate for you. My boyfriend eats meat all the time, and we would be broken up if i tried to change him. I dont give a shit what he eats I only care about what is going into MY body. People are more likely to change if you give them information as to why YOUR vegan.

  • @CourtneyLICI0US is it hard like how old are you because i'm 12 but my parents don't feel like only buying stuff that is fish and nonmeat well i want to be a pescatarian they eat seafood oh and my mom thinks i only eat fish now no i can eat stuff that is only vegitarian so help!

  • I think being vegan is a doddle. It is other people's reactions which are most often the biggest pain in the ass.

  • If its not hard, that why are you not a vegan anymore??

"in no sense of the word"

  • "you might like the look of fur, taste of meat ect but you don't want anything to die because of it!"

    That is so me!

    Good for you.

  • I'm lucky enough to have found a really nice veggieburger (first time I panicked and had to go and double check that it was indeed veggie!)

I finfd it useful when I am with friends at bbq and such.

the thing about not using real fur, real leather or real meat is that you might like the look of fur, taste of meat ect but you don't want anything to die because of it!

I have a faux fur coat, and have had to defend it several times because people thought it was real. Quality is key

  • Usually only people who choose to follow veganism from meat eating eat more vegan burgers, hot dogs, sausages, etc.

It's more of a transition food for some. They miss meat sometimes, and those products fulfill their cravings.

But many vegans who were vegan from birth don't really eat those products.

I personally think that they suck and taste bad.

  • you know what vegan really isnt that hard, i have been vegan for a month and i went to vegas ate at many resturaunts and was able to eat good food minus dairy and meat, but hey thats me and MY taste buds
