This year was kicked off with a highly controversial bill: the National Defense Authorization Act. The NDAA, now law, gives the US military the power to legally detain individuals without charge or trial. The right to due process has become null and void under the new legislation, even for American citizens. Recently a group of individuals filed a lawsuit against the new law to challenge it, and one of the plaintiffs is Chris Hedges, columnist for TruthDig. Hedges joins us to explain why he felt it necessary to file a lawsuit.

Yes it does apply to all of the United States. Why else would each state propose bills to nullify the NDAA in it's state. Do you honestly think that the DHS needs 2,700 armored vehicles to patrol just D.C. Please stop watching main stream media on TV. Talk a walk off the beaten path and look around you might be surprised of what you find. Have a great life and godspeed.

Signed into United States law = it only legally applies to the residents and employees of Washington, D.C. If we will unwittingly (or otherwise) accept that it applies to us, they are only too happy to allow for that, because that's what their goal is in the first place. (Google U.S. vs. U.S.A., United States vs. Unites States of America)

seems like alot of details about end results are skipped and left to be forgotten, afterall there is sooo much to keep us distracted (gun control, right to assemble and protest, ambassadors getting murderd) all of which seem to be running the same kind of course lol sound right 2 u?

NY Times and (all?) major dailies have made no mention of Hedges v Obama. The Nation Magazine hasn't either and deletes all comments that mention it. How long will YouTube allow it? This is the most important constitutional case in our lifetime. Apparently too important to allow us to know us about.

What I was really wanting to know is what came of the law suit this man brought.

It applies to Washington, D.C., which is a corporation.
