Cari Norris joins the Bluegrass Messengers at Quills to play Banjo Pickin' Girl a song she learned from her grandmother Lily May Ledford of the Coon Creek Girls. Images of Richard Matteson's painting of the song are shown during the video.

Cari Plays Lily May's Vega banjo from the 1930s. To see the history and lyrics of the song visit the Bluegrass Messengers site: http://bluegrassmessengers.com/banjo-pickin-girl--bluegrass-messengers.aspx

  • Hi,

I have my guitar version on youtube with the chords and words. It's similar to Cari's banjo version. I assume you want the banjo TAB which I don't have- it's played claw-hammer style.
