@Alastarr1 Here, I'll repeat the part that was more imporant in that comment I posted.
Watch other videos, people put something in their pets inventory, and then it says that as they run off.
And just because that monster is hitting him, does not mean it killed him. Just means when the dog vanished, it was being attacked.

@Alastarr1 Of course "departed" doesn't necessarily mean death, but I'm pretty sure the monster fighting the dog (you can see it on the bottom right) doesn't leave too much room for doubt.
