  • Coal is not the only way to keep the lights on, and MTR coal is only a small fraction of coal mined in the US. MTR coal employs fewer people per ton mined than any other kind of coal. So consumers dont need MTR coal and its a wonder that coal miners fight for it. It is in the interests of coal miners to join the fight against MTR if they want coal jobs in the future.

  • Ya know, from the moisture content of this mud, and how its laying, I'm not sure that the mining company did this.... I think it is a mudslide, but that's just my opinion. Usually when a company does this, they make water breaks so the water won't stand behind the barrier, as it does in this video. Just my opinion though!

  • i think people need to get a life. 1 1/2 years ago you could not even tell there was a gravy yard there. i know because i'm from the same hollow these people leave up. now i guess they think they are going to get some money or something out of this. i'm a coal miner myself (underground), and i might not be a big fan of MTR but im not going to try to stop it. PROVE YOUR AGAINST MOUNTAIN TOP REMOVAL TURN YOUR LIGHTS OFF!!!!!!

    QUOTE THE MINER NEVERMORE
