sweet i just needed to know how to cut audio out as a separate file so i could do voice overs and yeah imovie sucks i love final cut its great thanks for the help

I'm a little confused with iMovie. When I import videos to my Mac, they always appear in the pictures folder. And when I drag them into the timeline, they don't have audio. When I try extracting the audio, iMovie ALWAYS closes. Am I doing something wrong? Pleeeease help me.
