Just because Reagan said it doesn't mean he believed it. This is the guy who effectively destroyed the air traffic control union PATCO by simply firing them. Not to mention constant non-enforcement by the Dept of Labor of nearly all labor protection laws under his administration.
Reagan only cared about unions when he was in the Screen Actors Guild and when Solidarity was resisting Soviet domination of Poland (the subject in this video).

I'm not sure how old any of you are but I remember him being against Unions and all of them disappeared under his administration...I watched all our mills...steel and lumber shut down and other manufacturing jobs move to China. I'm not political or an economic genius but even I could see the downturn before it started. Reagan was just another puppet.

They're ignorant, he was not the greatest President. He raised taxes 11 times and the debt ceiling 18 times! All you have to do is search it in goggle. The info is all there unless your a Cray-Cray and spin it into your alternate universe!

So basically he only cared about himself? Which is what The GoP stands for.

He also believed in the right to leave a union voluntarily

no those are actually not. Because the workers is paying for them. But the real question is if the individual should have a choice or not.

No, I think that we should give people back (adjusted for inflation) what they paid into these programs and then abolish them.

@chinchin4320 Well when you realize to stop reading biased media like the ever infamous "fair and unbiased" FOX NEWS, then you can come talk to me.

@chinchin4320 A union without the right to strike is a powerless and meaningless union.
