Believers often argue that atheism requires you to believe that SOMETHING can come from NOTHING. This argument is easily refuted, and that's the purpose of this video.

I touch on a lot of things in this video, and don't go too in depth into any one of them. It focuses primarily on the stated topic.

One question I don't address, and for good reason, is "Why is there something, rather than nothing?" If there is a single question science will never be able to directly address, this is most likely it. If you think that this alone is enough to 'prove', or even to suggest a god, you are mistaken; indeed you just cut your own throat with Occam's razor.

  • Very nice video. However, modern science DOES say that the universe did come from nothing. The state of nothing is UNSTABLE. The universe can come from nothing without violating the energy conservation laws. Read "The Origin of the Universe - Case Closed" for the details.

  • @booksofscience You're sort of right, but yes, this video is out of date. I made it well before Stephen Hawking's latest book, or the book you mention was published. The "nothing" scientists talk about in both those books is not the 'nothing' discussed by philosophers. It could be said that a quantum foam/vacuum is still 'something' in a literal sense, so the primary premise of the video holds true. I appreciate your post, thanks for watching!

  • @Cyxgun You say that the energy that existed in the beginning can not be created, so your saying it's always been, or did something have to create those energy forces and particles? It's logical to conclude that those particles must have come from something prior, unless you want to accept that those energy forces and particles have always been, because something has to have always been, because something cannot come from nothing. It's logical.

  • @Caldari1 Then we are in agreement. As I said in the video... in the beginning "Something just WAS." Which is more probable then, God or a quantum energy field? Because of what we know about complexity and probability, we have reason to believe quantum energy field "just being" is much, MUCH more likely than the theistic alternative because it is simple. The mind of God is most definitely not simple! For this reason it cannot "just be."

  • No, sir. All these posts demonstrate is that you've been thoroughly brainwashed. Just like I used to be. If a lie is repeated often enough people believe it. Think about it logically. 1. Life doesn't come from non-life, the law of Biogenesis. 2. DNA is information and information only comes from intelligence. 3. Have you ever noticed that at the end of the inside of an egg is an air sac? Air comes through tiny holes on the egg for the chick. Eventually the holes collapse and the chick knows it

  • @donawyo "Not a shred" huh? Did you miss the part where I explained that viral and bacterial drug resistance was evolution? You're just wasting my time because you don't appear to care what I have to say, and your comments have turned into rants. Really 9 comments long? Go to donexodous2 channel and argue with him, because he's an actual evolutionary biologist. I'm done with you spamming my channel with this bull. Blocked.

  • @GamerEnterprise Also, fix your grammar. I'm not saying this to put you down, but if you want people to view your comment as readable, even though the truth of a set of words does not depend on it's grammar, then write more clearly.

  • @GamerEnterprise I really urge you to look up Aristotle's and Plato's work.

  • @GamerEnterprise: Although science is awesome and has made many breakthroughs, philosophy in itself, is supreme for it surpasses all empirical scientific questions and explanations. If you don't even think about the bible, yet think logically, and I say again, "if you do" then you will come to the only conclusion that science is not all that exists, and that there is something that has always been. Existence cannot come from non-existence, yet something must have always have existed.

  • @GamerEnterprise: First of all, you're comment is fulllll of assumptions that aren't true. Before I believed in Jesus, I always thought about life philosophically in the sense that "I found out myself" that there must be "something" eternal. Secondly, you cannot prove that everything I know came from the bible, for you cannot even prove to yourself that you exist. Everything is taken on faith if you get technical. That is why René Descartes said, "I think, threfore I am."

  • @Caldari1 If I would go back in time to year 120 and destroy bible, you would not even know about this"god theory".I want to proove, that everything you know about god,all your information about this being noone have seen comes from book and you cant argue with that.Bible gave you all info about god.Information is only just as good as its source.Until you can be sure on all 100% that every single word in bible is written by "x" author (god in this case" its irrational to believe in it

  • @cyxgun I like how you think; you think very logical. I am a christian myself, therefore I do beleive in God, but I'm a christian that is very open minded and I always think about things very critically and skeptically before accepting them unlike a lot of christians who accept things just based off of a desperate want for God to be real. I try my best to make God fit into the natural world we live in. I think Plato and Aristotle gave great examples of how science cannot account for everything.
