One person wants to play with himself. :o)

@tonyuk1977 No I realised what it was in the end - a game called Solstice for the Nes. Glad I finally found it!

@Rich7714 You not thinking about Landstalker are you?

So many missed jumps...

@weds9994 No, that's not it. I used to love playing Toejam & Earl 2 though! I found one person's list of isometric games so far but it's not there. I'm sure the one I'm after was definitely a 16-bit, early 90's one. I'll keep searching! Thanks!

@Rich7714 Toejam and earl?
-
@weds9994 Mmm, that wasn't the one I was thinking of. I remember a lot of platforming involved with jumping on blocks & some spikey floor tiles. I think so anyway - it's frustrating trying to think back with such vague memories! The rooms were more square-box-like, like in this game, and it wasn't an RPG. Thanks a lot for the help though! I'll try searching using those terms you suggested!

@Rich7714 Its possibly 'The Immortal' - Megadrive? the genre is 'isometric' or 'isometric puzzle game' or 'isometric puzzler'

Is there a name for this sort of box room genre of gaming? I'm searching for this other game of the same genre that I used to have on maybe the Megadrive or Snes. If I remember right, you controlled some kind of cartoony ghost person like Vivi from Final Fantasy IX
