Ron Paul votes no so often because he believes the functions of government should be limited. I totally agree and I love the nick name Dr. No. I would like to recommend a book to like minded individuals. It is called "the Law" by Frederic Bastiat. It does a good job of explaining why limited government is the best logical solutions for everyone. It is only 82 pages long check it out.

Correct, metroid. The founding fathers understood that problem (they called it "usurpation") very clearly and warned us about it often.

Ron Paul said he wants to be a strong president -- strong enough to resist the temptation to take power a president shouldn't have.

Some people are statists (AKA socialists, although many self-professed socialists insist that's not true socialism) and thus oppose any deconstruction of the gummint leviathan. Remember the natural preference is for liberty; it's not easy to convince a man that he should want a master. When it's been done, those who take the master role will predictably oppose its undoing.
