Pat Buchanan is promising a "bloodbath." Brad Blakeman is vowing that Republicans will line up against it en masse. But according to the New York Times, President Obama is planning to push for comprehensive immigration reform this year anyway ...

this is the only way of fixing the economy and dealing with illegal immigration.... let them pay taxes rather than benefitting the employers!! they re not gonna take away the jobs since they already got their jobs illegally. duhhhh.. once they are legal, they can buy car, houses, and certainly contribute to the economy, the system that needs to be fixed is ' the welfare system

30 000000 imigrants among ilegals and uncocumented, if they pay a fine of 5000 bucks plus fees to aplly for what ever the cogress pass lets say betwen 1000 and 1500 with atorneys problably more. how much will be the total 30000000 by 6000 = 180000000000

@danfive555 "We are a socialist country?" Dude every economy in the world is a mixed economy. Not even Hong Kong is fully capitalist. I think it is foolish to call America socialist though. Sweden, Denmark, Germany, France... those are real socialist countries. Canada is more socialistic than we are, but I would still call that country capitalist.

Countries go bankrupt all the time---Argentina, Iceland for example. Doesn't turn out as bad/violent as you think.

Instead of monetary aid to poor countries, the laborers are allowed access to the labor market. Bosses capitalize on the cheap labor, increasing American wealth; immigrants (both kind) learn skills and send their money abroad as aid to specific family members.

Nice point. Mexico has added factories--foreign and domestic--and has bounced back economically. We happen to have big hurdles--weak currency, many people at low education level, weak tax system + govt corruption.

But in general we have a very good private sector that struggles with boom and bust cycles. The issue is that we are a socialist country (big govt) and that is our achilles heel, while the private sector is our strength (but the laws/policies do not favor it).

AND YES there is always will be more immigrants thats why America should work on its immigration polices. Dont forget Illegal  or not illegal immigrant .. WE ALL ARE PEOPLE. and we should help each other!Look how many Americans took their business to China ( for cheap labor) and make money of of us and China raised up, why dont they open some factories in Mexico to give Mexicans some work so they wont have to come here...?!?!?!? WE ALL ARE HUMAN!!

P.S. You must of forgotten that somewhere down your family tree some was an immigrant that actually brought your blood line to America!!!! I dont disagree with any of you that there is more than plenty Hispanic people here.. but believe me they are not taking YOUR job, they just do YOUR job way cheaper than what you want for it.. and its not there fault its those that use their situation, once those illegal ( as you say) will have documents the companies will probably hire you instead.
