Mega, this ship does not suck. She was in 1912 what the New Jersey (or Iowa class in general) became. In 1912 she was the zenith design in heavy battleships based off the Drednaught. The Iowa's were 30 years more advanced. So there is no comparison. The Texas is the oldest battleship still afloat and she is the last of the Drednaughts. She is very special.

There are 6 such ships actually. Ive just read that but I dont know which the others are. Probably the Greek battleship and the Aurora are amongst them.

I am a boyscout, almost eagle, and we stayed the night on this ship in baytown, tx yesterday. its cool but they are tryin to refurbish all the rooms to look like it was before. there is sheetrock and paint buckets anywhere. overall, about half the ship is done so tho tour was pretty nice. sometime in the next 10 years they are going to take it out of the water and put it on stilts on land. it was pretty cool to know in the early 1900'dreds it had the most powerful weapons in the world(;

I remember sleeping overnight on this ship back on a 6th grade trip.

I was just there yesterday and she looks great! They are still refurbishing her in some of the lower levels but she looks great!
