  • no gloves?????

  • @archelle18 We do supply gloves, but or staff choose whether to wear them or not. The important issue is the use of a bacteriacidal cleaning liquid.

  • I like the idea of the video but a few hygiene issues. No gloves whilst cleaning the toilet (she even turns the sponge over) and then it looks like the same sponge cleaning the bath, gross! But hopefully I'm wrong. Looks clean however... but.

  • @hotelstv The Bacteriacidal cleaning liquid bottles are clearly visible and of course a different sponge is used for different arewas of the bathroom. Our staff have the choice whether to wear gloves or not.

  • No hair net? I check rooms all the time and the biggest thing I find is hair on the bed, in sinks n tubs...

  • correct..and sometimes it will make your hands skin dry..

  • how is this extreme housekeeping? this is normal cleaning

  • obviously this video was not meant as step by step 'how to clean the hotel room", (everyone should be able to recognize the editor's cuts otherwise it would be too long and boring) and should be viewed as such. I do however agree that gloves for cleaning bathroom/toilet are not optional but compulsory, if staff choose not to wear them (as many will) it is their own risk. The toilet must be wiped top to bottom, using any antibacterial chemicals doesn't make the shown method hygienic.

  • @QFHotelsTV Im a housekeeper too and we have 'safety trainings' going every month. I believe without using a gloves while cleaning, conducts a very bad habit at the same time even you are using the 100% anti bacterial chemical it is still not SAFE because a chemical can cause harm to our skin and through our body. It can cause some chemical reactions.

  • I want to congratulate you and every housekeeper out there. I'm currently doing a study/project on worker abuse. Mainly on hotels. In some hotels, workers are being exploited and sometimes don't even get enough pay.

    Congratulations on your hard work(:

  • @Sparklegrl1 Thank you for your comment on our video "Extreme Housekeeping". It is very clear that the production of this video has not been as clear and accurate as it should have been. Our housekeeping staff most certainly do not use the same cloth to clean the toilet as they do to clean the washbasin and bath. They use different cloths of the same type. We are changing our procedures today so that we use visually different cloths so that no uncertainty is possible by our guests. Thank you.

  • @QFHotelsTV :

It looks like she is using the same sponge to wipe the toilet seat as she does the rim of the toilet! That is what concerns me! Being the rim first then wiping down the side of the bowl YUCK and back to the toilet seat! That isn't healthy! SICK! I will never stay at this hotel. And, please, do not paste the same reply as you have been to every single comment viewers have made. You aren't listening very well! Maybe we Americans are just cleaner?
