Fact: If you are dating a person with bipolar and is in hypomanic/manic state, there's a very high chance(than the general) that he/she will have infidelity. Look up bipolar and infidelity,..they go together.

The Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) is a mental health watchdog, responsible for helping to enact more than 150 laws protecting us from abusive or coercive practices.
CCHR has fought to restore human rights to mental health, including, full informed consent regarding the medical legitimacy of psychiatric diagnosis, risks of psychiatric treatments,
and the RIGHT TO REFUSE TREATMENT. I was a victim of psychiatry for many years, Im not part of this group but agree 1000%

There is a new therapy that has gone under rigorous study. Hoorah.
Keep taking your meds. If they aren't right keep nudging them with your psychiatrist.
In addition to cognitive behvioral counseling, music therapy, art therapy, aroma therapy there is now : drum roll please :
EMDR Eye movement desesnsitization reprocessing.
Your psychologist helps you untangle your thoughts by causing you to switch back and forth right brain, left brain, right brain, left brain, right brain...

If Katie Couric can do what she does, some have a chance to overcome the symptoms. Somehow she has.

I was diagnosed almost two years when I just turned 18, I have been hospitalised twice and been through some pretty dark shit.
I feel I am finally coming to terms with it and using some of the positive aspects to help me in my life.
Check out my videos and site if you want to know more

In the past year I've had been reading several books including various sites about this. I did find myself having many characteristics that diagnosed people with BPD have. Only one or two things I didn't fit that bill: I've never had any thought of suicide. I've yet to see a shrink so I can't really say. When I can, I might go to see one. I knew about bipolar but I hardly identified with this.

@mentaltweak We have received many requests for information about borderline personality disorder and a vlog is definitely on our to-do list. Due to overlapping of symptoms, borderline personality disorder and bipolar disorder are often confused. Sometimes both disorders can occur at the same time.

I enjoy her signing style. I do believe she should refer to Bipolar Disorder using an abbreviation (BP? BPD?) after she originaly spells it out - to save on time & effort. I hope to sign that good some day :-)

@Katie4ASL Thank you for your comment and suggestion. BP and BPD can mean Borderline Personality Disorder. It is best to spell out bipolar disorder.
