This video was intended to help those looking to acquire the Canon EF 8mm-15mm 4.0/L series lens. At this point in time, since it is still fairly early in the release of this lens, I opted to put together this video. It consists of all 8 photos ranging from 8mm through 15mm on a Canon EOS 7D. My reason for doing this is I was unable to find 8 exact shots at all 8 focal lengths. Hopefully this video helps some of you out there in doing the same type of research. These are test images and unaltered. They are basic (non photo contest) images merely for illustration only. NOTE: the blue fringing on the 8mm shot is typical of this lens when shooting into a direct light source. Note how in the corners the skyline graduates to a "blue fringe" (this is not CA) before the deliberate vignette in the upper left and right corners. In photos where the light source was not as bright the blue fringing was not as present or not at all.
Also, I've owned the Tokina 10-17 and sold it recently to acquire this lens. Reasons: diffraction in harsh light or bright light and also the Canon is a bit sharper but of course at triple the price. I hope you have found this helpful in determining your decision on this lens
