@HeirofGojira91 Thank You !!! lol Thats all I was trying to state
-
@soundslave it's more like armored AT-Gun, too big, too slow, little gun angle.

rossmum - actually I like the 121.92mm A19 M1931/M1937 - indeed it was really its HE and numbers that made it famours in WWII - not its claimed ability to kill German tanks. Yes bigger guns dont' mean better because COSTS! ROF! TRANSVERSE! and MOBILITY also count. The PaK 43 could punch almost any tank but it was expensive, HUGE, difficult to tow (it was the opposite of the PaK 36 'Door knocker' - PaK 43 got called the Barn Door)
What about the 152.4mm ML-20? On the ISU-152 ZVEROBOY! :D

@Foxtrot262 Very heavy, slow firing though AND EXPENSIVE! HAHA! But yes the PaK 44 was undoubtedly the MOSt powerful AT gun fieled on an AFV during WWII. I prefer the PaK 42 and PaK 43 though - lighter and faster firing :)

A gun is only as good as the platform it's mounted on. You can say the the 128mm JTiger gun was 'the best'. But the JTiger itself was a sack of crap. Tanks are all about balancing movement, armour and firepower. The Jtiger had poor movement when it was functional. And no movement when it broke down/out of fuel (which was most of the time).
-
@Foxtrot262 It wasn't. The 88 mm KwK 43 L/71 had better penetration at closer ranges. It was also more accurate and took less time to reload. The 128 mm wins at very high ranges.

*DING*
Epic tankwork there, you two are a good team.

The 122mm D-2-5T was actually a pretty mediocre gun against tanks, but excellent for destroying fortifications, which is exactly what it was designed to do.
Bigger calibre does not equal better.
