A morning wildfowling in Norfolk, East Anglia, UK. These geese were returning from an early feed on harvested sugarbeet tops, when they flew over our marsh and wiffled down onto the next marsh 30yds away. We were expecting a good flight but this was something else - our best estimate is about 15,000 geese in this little lot. You don't get this every day and we didn't have the heart to lift a gun to them.

A little something for all you "antis" out there with absolutely no idea of what wildfowling is all about: it's not knowing what & how much to shoot - it's knowing WHEN to shoot. It also may help clear up any misunderstanding that "veggie" Benn, DEFRA, Natural England and the RSPB might have !!

  • Well I didn't, I no what they look like when im watching them from the hide, I click on your video to see some cracking shots but instead you show me a nature programme...

  • @Slayer2029 - then you're not a wildfowler and your login suggests that you are one of those that prefer only to kill. Read the whole description of the video to gain some insight into wildfowling....

  • Execellent video, im such a massive lover of shooting geese and just sitting there and watching them. I must give you respect for just sitting there and watching them. Most videos all you see if geese falling out of the sky or shooting them too close. I really enjoyed just listening to them and watching them thank you.

  • @Gooseman12Gauge You're welcome, glad you enjoyed it. Actually not shooting wasn't too much of a decision really!! in any event, you don't shoot geese so close to their feeding or roosting ground....unless you're a bit thick or greedy. We were expecting flighting birds, their use of that marsh was totally unexpected.

  • was that at holkam?

  • No, further south.

  • Well one farmer isnt going to be happy ;) And you only get this in Norfolk and The mighty Lancashire! :)

  • I will be out at Norton Bank as soon as these beauties are in. Magic

  • Slayer obviously your not a wildfowler you just dont go out to kill or massacre the poor birds they get a hard enough time as it is. I often go out and just watch them fly and know there pattern if you did the same you might learn something. Theres to many ppl just want to go out and shoot shoot shoot. So learn.

  • @otthebot cool up ware i stay there is some people that would just shoot them all day and chase them of, ware i stay guys go out onto the roost and wait for them coming in which just sickens me to death, as i love geese so much and respect them so much when not to shoot and when to shoot.
